groundwater

AquAeTer's professional hydrogeologists and engineers offer consulting services related to the characterization, monitoring, and remediation of groundwater systems. This experience includes work in a variety of hydrogeologic settings, including alluvial aquifer systems, flat-lying to intensely folded and solutioned sedimentary aquifers, and complexly fractured metamorphic and igneous groundwater-bearing systems in climatic regions ranging from tropical to desert and alpine to arctic. We understand the relationships between groundwater chemistry, geology, and contamination by inorganic or organic compounds as a result of human activity.

AquAeTer's groundwater services include the following areas:

  • Analytical data management and statistical evaluation
  • Assessment of aquifer properties using field tests
  • Assessment of the soil gas/groundwater quality relationship
  • Development and implementation of remedial measures
  • Development of environmental monitoring plans
  • Evaluations to support ending post-closure care
  • Groundwater monitoring reports
  • Groundwater sampling and analysis
  • Hydrogeologic regime mapping and characterization
  • Installation of piezometers, test wells, and monitoring wells
  • Modeling of flow regimes and contaminant fate and transport
  • Post-closure groundwater monitoring and reporting
